Purple - Not too dark or bluish, almost a "wine" color. Gray - NOT BLUE! This is a darker gray but not as dark as the purple. Khaki - NOT GREEN! This is brown with a slight green hue. Not as dark as the gray. Brown - Very similar in shade to the khaki, but more orangy than greenish. Brick Red - A somewhat light, very orangy red. Not quite as dark as the browns. Gold/Yellow - An orangy, but not vivid yellow Beige - This is a somewhat yellowy, tan/beige. (Much darker than white!) New Yarn recommendation! - Blue Sky Alpaca This yarn comes in great colors and it is Alpaca, which is very soft and luxurious. It costs about $8-9 per skein and seems to be widely available. You should use these colors: Red - #518 ("Sport Weight Solids" range) Beige - #503 ("Sport Weight Solids" range) Brown - #502 ("Sport Weight Solids" range) -Use this for both brown and khaki Purple - #512 ("Sport Weight Solids" range) Yellow - #73 ("Sport Weight Solids" range) Gray - #803 ("Sport Weight Melanges" range) Here is one place you can order it from. It is inexpensive. (About $3 for a 185 yard skein of Sport weight) The colors are quite good.
