The original scarf, last worn by Tom Baker in "Shada," was auctioned off in 2005. The winner of the scarf was Richard Cohen, a porcelain collector from Long Island, New York. I was put in touch with Richard and he was nice enough to invite to his home to see this treasure. Not surprisingly, I was more than happy to do so! Many, many thanks to Richard for his hospitality and contribution to the cause! Here are the photos from my visits. (In some photos I am comparing the original with ones that I knitted and a "Today Promotions" scarf.) Of course, actually seeing the scarf in person was invaluable in helping me on this quest of making the perfect replica. I brought along some yarn and scarves to compare the colors and to get a better idea of what the colors really are, instead of how they look in photos and video. Above, you can see one of the scarves I knitted and the colors are way off! The colors on the Today Promotions scarf, however, are very close to the real thing. I'm convinced they were allowed to use the real scarf as a reference to match the colors on this scarf.
